I keep having ideas, but I've been playing much more classical guitar since I finished v1, and I'm finally starting to sound OK-ish again. Right now, my big challenge is waiting a few weeks before starting on v2. That would probably work for the WS3.0 scenery as well. One can simply place them in a folder and install them as addon scenery through the flightgear launcher. tgz files that flightgear accepts and uses. When downloading the SD scenery from the map interface, the user is provided with single. That should fill in the narrow (1-2 pixel) roads without losing the real built-up areas. Impossible to download scenery via map interface. My plan is to extract the built up-areas from the 250m landcover, upscale them to 30m, then null out the built-up areas from the 30m landcover, paste the areas from the 250m behind the 30m, then fill in empty areas from neighbours. My big challenge with the 30m landcover, aside from the sheer computing power required, was that the roads show up as built-up area so I need to remove those to avoid a weird pixelated outline around vector roads (whether osm2city or built-in) without removing actual built-up areas. Or should I just delete it all and download the latest FG and rebuild it all from scratch? I'm annoyed because I wanted to join the festival, but without the scenery it's sort of pointless.Yes, for v2 I'm going to switch to a (slightly simplified) 30m landcover, which should pick up detail like that (vs my current 250m landcover). I went then to FG 2.4/data/scenery-terrasync and pasted the folders there and the objects/model of the airport still didnt appear Thanks for your help anyway, aviationR. If You have only one tile 16k x 16k around the depart airport, it is perfectly usable, FG will load tile on startup. I went to FG 2.0/data/scenery and copied all the folders there: Airports, Objects and Terrain. I tried every tip which have been bookmarked on the first topic of this forum (about ATI cards) but didnt work. I'm able to set paths correctly in all places, but once I hit "run" I get an error that whatever plane I've selected is not found, even though I clearly see it on the drive. I tested scenery with 4x4 16k tiles around Innsbruck, FG crashed, or lag was more than 10 seconds. Hi,you did not tell us important facts that are necessary to help you. Flightgear version 2.6, directly coming from the official packages available on the ubuntu store. Using FGRun I run into different problems. Don't understand how I can get this to work. I've used forward slashes, backward slashes, with and without ".git", ending path at "custom scenery", and more. fg-scenery=\F:\FlightGear\custom scenery\RJGG-fg-CustomScenery.git And I've tried with the path set in the "options" box, using: This new scenery reflects a major improvement over the existing default world scenery and has taken over five years to complete. I've also tried the opposite, with terrasync first and custom second. The FlightGear world scenery development team is happy to announce the release of the FlightGear world scenery, version 2.0, today. That folder, "custom scenery" is the first path in the settings entry for scenery, followed by the terrasync path. I have downloaded a custom RJGG folder to my HD to within my "custom scenery" folder. Using QT launcher I can't get my downloaded custom scenery to get priority or load using "settings" "Configure add on aircraft and scenery". Custom used to work fine, but now it doesn't it seems.
